You know those days when you sit down in your cozy spot on the couch with a cup of coffee in your hand and have absolutely nothing on your mind? Yep, I don’t know them either. But just the thought is like a fresh breath to my soul.
Instead, it’s usually coffee in a to-go mug (if I’m lucky) running out the door with a mental check list that would make the most sane person need a psychiatrist. It’s usually then that I realize my shirt is on inside out, I forgot to replenish my stash of diapers (which inevitably means my baby boy WILL have a blowout), and my keys are lost (a.k.a shoved into some pocket of some jacket or bag somewhere). But, even in the midst of the most ridiculous chaos, God without fail ensures I still know He is God.
It’s that deep breath I take before I turn my key to start the ignition – He is there. I’m reminded that my heart beats today not because my brain told it to but because God caused it to.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6
In the midst of chaos, He is there. My breath is evidence of that.
Today as you embrace the chaos of the day let your breath remind you of how constant and present He is.
